Why our regulars keep coming back
A proper pause, on purpose
Forty-five minutes in a comfortable recliner with a book, the radio, or your eyes shut — while you breathe hydrogen-enriched air through a soft nasal tube. No screens required, no one hurrying you along.
A rhythm, not a rescue
Many guests make it a weekly or fortnightly fixture, the way others guard their swim or their walking group. It is part of minding yourself, not a fix for anything — and we will never pretend otherwise.
Company, if you want it
We are a husband-and-wife clinic, not a chain. Some guests want silence; plenty want a chat and a cup of tea afterwards. Both are welcome, and nobody will ever try to upsell you on the way out.
Honest about the research
One careful Japanese study
In 2018, researchers in Osaka ran a double-blind crossover trial in 26 healthy adults. In that one small study, four weeks of hydrogen-rich water was associated with better mood and anxiety scores and calmer resting nervous-system readings than placebo — a finding that has not yet been repeated at scale.
Why we mention it carefully
Twenty-six people is a small sample, the study used drinking water rather than the breathed sessions we offer, and single studies need replicating. We find it genuinely interesting — that is different from proof, and we hold the line between the two.
What is simply true
An unhurried, comfortable hour of rest needs no clinical trial to justify it. Everything the hydrogen may or may not add on top is exactly what researchers are still working out — and we keep this page honest as that picture changes.
The Osaka study, fully cited and put in context: hydrogen, mood and everyday stress. The bigger scientific picture — including the unanswered questions — is in molecular hydrogen and oxidative stress.

Asked without embarrassment
I have a health condition — can I come?
Please speak to your GP or another qualified healthcare professional first — genuinely, before booking. Hydrogen therapy is not a medical treatment, does not treat any condition, and must never delay or replace medical care. If your GP has no objection, you are very welcome.
What does a first visit look like?
One of us meets you at the door, shows you the room, and answers every question before anything is switched on. The 20-minute taster (£45) exists precisely so you can find out how it feels with no commitment. Come as you are — there is nothing to change into and nothing to prepare.
Is there anywhere to park? Stairs?
Free parking is directly outside on the street, and the session room is easy to reach. If mobility is a concern, ring us before you book and we will talk through the practicalities honestly.
Do I have to buy a package?
Never. Single sessions are £45 (20 minutes) and £60 (45 minutes). Packages of five (£265) or ten (£525) simply lower the per-visit price for people who have made it a habit — and our Vitality Guarantee covers the five-session package in writing.
Hydrogen therapy at H2 Clinic supports rest and natural recovery. It is not a medical treatment and is not a substitute for advice from your GP or another qualified healthcare professional. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or take medication, please speak to them before booking.
