How sporting guests use a session
Between training days
Most sporting guests book the day after a hard session or match. You sit back in a recliner and breathe hydrogen-enriched air through a soft nasal cannula — no smell, no taste, nothing to change into.
Forty-five minutes, properly off
No phone in your hand unless you want it there. Plenty of our athletes treat the session as the only genuinely still block in their training week — reading, music, or a deliberate doze.
Straight back to it
There is no downtime afterwards. You can drive, train later the same day, and nothing about the session interferes with whatever your coach or physio has planned.
What the research says — and what it doesn't
Small trials report interesting things
A Japanese pilot with footballers linked hydrogen-rich water to lower lactate and better-kept muscle performance. Later small studies reported milder post-lifting soreness and better-maintained sprint performance. All of them counted their participants in the tens, not hundreds.
A meta-analysis urges calm
When a 2024 review pooled six studies, hydrogen did not significantly reduce a standard marker of exercise-induced oxidative damage versus placebo. Anyone selling certainty here is ahead of the evidence — we would rather be behind it and honest.
Inhalation is where our interest sits
Newer studies have begun testing breathed hydrogen — the exact format of our sessions — before and after exercise, with early reports of reduced exercise fatigue. Early is the operative word, and we keep this page updated as the research moves.
Every study above is cited, linked and put in context in hydrogen and exercise recovery: what athletes should actually know. The wider science background lives in our article on oxidative stress.

Straight questions
Will this make me recover faster?
Honestly: the research cannot promise that yet. Small human trials point in interesting directions and a 2024 meta-analysis found key markers unmoved. What a session reliably gives you is 45 genuinely restful minutes — anything beyond that is exactly what the science is still testing.
When should I book around training?
Whenever suits your week — there is no protocol to follow because the research has not established one. Guests most often come the day after a heavy session, a match, or a long ride. You can train normally before and after.
Is it safe alongside hard training?
Published studies report hydrogen was well tolerated at the concentrations used. A session is non-invasive: you sit, you breathe, you leave. If you are managing an injury or a health condition, speak to your physiotherapist or GP first — that is not small print, we mean it.
What does it cost for regulars?
A 20-minute taster is £45 and a 45-minute session is £60. Five-session (£265) and ten-session (£525) packages bring the per-visit price down and can be used whenever suits your training block — buy once, book as you go.
